Integrations health

For admins· 1 min read

Health checks cover the two messaging providers — WAHA (WhatsApp) and Celcom (SMS) — plus delivery telemetry.

The integrations health surface monitors the two messaging providers:

  • WAHA (WhatsApp) — session state: WORKING, FAILED, SCAN_QR_CODE, STOPPED, or STARTING. SCAN_QR_CODE means the WhatsApp session needs re-pairing.
  • Celcom (SMS) — reachability, with a smoke-test button that sends a real test SMS.

Below the provider cards, delivery telemetry shows the last 24 hours / 7 days of message deliveries per channel.

How the OTP cascade works

For Kenyan (+254) numbers, sign-in codes go WhatsApp-first with automatic SMS fallback when WAHA is down, skipped, or rate-limited. Non-Kenyan numbers are WhatsApp-only — SMS only delivers inside Kenya, so there is no fallback for them; if WAHA is down, foreign users can't receive codes until it recovers.

Other services (M-Pesa, email, push, storage) aren't health-checked here — their failures surface in their own flows and in the ops alert channel.
