Library filters and scope

For teachersFor parentsFor students· 1 min read

The library is scoped to your role automatically — but you can layer filters (kind, difficulty, language) to narrow further.

The library is scoped — you only see content relevant to your role — and filterable — within your scope, you can narrow further by kind, difficulty, or language.

Automatic scoping

  • Teacher (JSS) — see Grades 7–9 content only. Senior secondary material is hidden.
  • Teacher (SSS) — see Grades 10–12 content only.
  • Parent — see content for the active learner's grade. Switch active learner from the home pill to change scope.
  • Student — see content for your grade only. No way to override.
  • Admin — see everything. No scoping.

An incomplete profile never opens the whole catalogue. Teachers complete their level and subjects in the Library or Profile before browsing. Learners keep the smallest useful baseline for their grade; pathway-dependent Mathematics and electives remain locked until the pathway is chosen.

Manual filters

The one manual filter is resource type — chips above a strand's item list (All / Lesson / Activity, and any other kinds the strand carries). Everything else is drill navigation: grade → subject book → strand → sub-strand.

Search

The search box accepts free text and uses semantic vector search, so concept-based queries work as well as exact titles.

Common issues

  • Filter shows no results. The kind you picked has no items in this strand yet — tap All to reset.
  • A subject book is missing. Your scope hides subjects outside your level or the learner's grade — check the scope note at the top of the shelf.
