Pending claim status
For teachers· 1 min read
What to expect while your school claim is under admin review.
A school claim is reviewed manually by a Keybaki admin (we don't auto-verify — KICD-aligned features have to be trustworthy). Typical turnaround is 2–3 business days.
While pending
- Your Profile card shows "Claim awaiting approval".
- You can still use Keybaki normally — plans, library, CEAs all work.
- School-scoped features are gated behind verification:
- School-level CEA reports
- Class enrolment export
- School-wide audience for bulk broadcasts
What admin is checking
- Your name matches the school's HR list (when we have one).
- Your phone is reachable.
- The school exists in the registry (if you added a new one, admin verifies the school first, then your claim).
- There are no red flags from automated checks (e.g. multiple claims for the same teacher across different schools).
Speeding things up
- Match your display name to your HR name. If HR has you as "Mary Wanjiru" and your Keybaki name is "Mwalimu Mary", admin has to manually confirm.
- Be reachable. Admin may call your registered phone to confirm; missing the call adds days.
- Get your headteacher to nudge. They can email
hello@keybaki.comconfirming you teach there — admin processes those nearly instantly.
After approval
- A notification + (with opt-in) SMS lands: "Your claim at [School name] has been approved."
- The Profile card flips to "Verified at [School name]".
- The school-scoped features unlock immediately.
Common issues
- It's been 4 days. Email
hello@keybaki.comwith your phone number; we'll check the queue. - I withdrew my claim — can I re-claim? Yes. Profile → School affiliation → Claim. The previous (withdrawn) claim is preserved in the audit log.
