Sending a broadcast

For admins· 1 min read

Compose and send an in-app + push broadcast to a role/status audience — plain title and body, sent immediately.

Broadcasts send a message to a selected audience over in-app and push — the two wired channels. (Email, SMS, and WhatsApp are not part of broadcasts.)

Steps

  1. Admin → Broadcasts → New broadcast.
  2. Pick the audience — a role and status in the composer, or arrive from the Audiences page with a saved audience preselected (its recipient count shows).
  3. Compose:
    • Title — shown as the notification headline.
    • Body — plain text, up to 2,000 characters. (Merge tags and templates aren't available yet.)
  4. Send. Broadcasts go out immediately — there is no scheduling.

Recipients get an in-app bell row, plus a push message on devices where they've enabled push. Suspended users are never sent to.

Measuring

The Sent tab shows recipients and per-channel delivered counts — see Measuring broadcasts.

Common issues

  • Push delivered is lower than recipients. Only users with push enabled receive it; everyone still gets the in-app row.
  • Need email or SMS reach. Broadcasts can't do that today — system notices and the messaging channels serve those paths.
