Taking a CEA

For studentsFor parents· 2 min read

A Competency Evaluation Assessment is a 5-minute quiz that measures mastery of a CBE strand and shows where to focus next.

A CEA — Competency Evaluation Assessment — is Keybaki's 5-minute practice quiz, anchored to a specific KICD curriculum strand. Every question maps to a competency, so results show what you know not just how many you got right.

Steps

  1. Open CEA from the bottom navigation.
  2. Pick a subject, then a strand, or leave the strand open to be quizzed on the whole subject. The strand picker only shows strands you have access to for your grade.
  3. Pick a length — 3, 5 or 10 questions — and tap Start CEA.
  4. Answer each question. You can skip and come back — but watch the clock: about 90 seconds per question, and the attempt submits itself when time runs out.
  5. Tap Submit when you're done.

Your results show within seconds.

A CEA covers a whole strand, or the whole subject if you leave the strand open. Want to practise just one sub-strand — say, only Linear Equations? Open the book's chapter in the library and use its Worksheets strip instead: Worksheets inside books.

What you see on the results screen

  • Your overall score — correct out of total, with a percent.
  • Per-question breakdown — which ones you got right, missed, or skipped, with an explanation on each.
  • Competency mastery — bars showing how you did across each CBE competency (Critical thinking, Communication, etc.).
  • Strands to revisit — short list of weak strands with a direct Browse button to jump into related content.

Common issues

  • Ran out of time mid-question. The attempt auto-submits at zero with your answers so far — skipped and unanswered questions score as missed.
  • Premium content is locked. Some strands need active premium tokens. Ask your parent to top up the wallet — they'll see the cost before paying.
  • I want to retry the same questions. Tap Retake with new pool at the bottom of the results — Keybaki picks a fresh set of questions from the same strand so you're not memorising specific items.
