Trust & safety flag queue

For admins· 1 min read

User-filed flags on library content. Review, approve, dismiss, or escalate to KICD for upstream content removal.

The flag queue is where user-filed content flags land for admin review. Each flag carries the user's reason + description, the flagged item, and any prior flags on the same item.

What you see per flag

  • Item — title, kind, subject, strand. Tap to open the full item viewer.
  • Reason — the flagger's category (inappropriate / inaccurate-outdated / wrong strand or grade / low quality / copyright / other).
  • Description — the user's free-text explanation.
  • Filed by — the user who flagged it.
  • Prior flags — how many other users have flagged this item.
  • Item status — Live / Hidden (already hidden by prior admin action).

Actions

For each flag:

  • Pull content — substantiate the flag: the item is pulled from the library.
  • Dismiss — the flag is unfounded. The item stays live. The flagger receives a brief explanation in their notification feed.

Hidden items

  • Hidden items don't appear in any library surface for any role.
  • Hidden items still resolve by direct URL (so analytics / audit can trace what was hidden).
  • Hidden items can be Restored by an admin from the item detail (with a reason).

Repeat flaggers

Flags carry the flagger's name, and the queue shows their history — judgement stays with the reviewing admin; there's no automatic trust scoring or throttling.

Common issues

  • Flag is about a related item, not this one. The user mis-targeted. Dismiss with a note pointing them to the right flag flow.
  • High-priority queue is growing. Either a single item is going viral (newsworthy) or a content batch shipped with errors. Triage by item — multiple flags on one item = upstream issue.
