Adjusting a user's token wallet

For admins· 1 min read

Manually credit or debit a paying user's token wallet from their detail panel. Financial-tier; notifies the user; audited.

You can hand-adjust a paying user's token balance — a goodwill credit, a correction, a refund reversal — from the user detail panel. It's a financial-tier action (financial or super-admins).

How to adjust

  1. Admin → Users → open the user → Wallet section.
  2. Adjust balance.
  3. Enter a token amount — positive to credit, negative to debit — and a reason.
  4. Confirm.

What happens

  • The balance updates atomically, and a wallet transaction (kind adjustment) is recorded so the change shows in their transaction history with your reason.
  • The user is notified (in-app + push where allowed) that their balance changed.
  • An ops alert fires to the team (Telegram, where configured — see Ops alerts).
  • It's written to the admin audit log (who, when, before → after).

Guardrails

  • You can't debit below zero — a debit larger than the balance is refused (insufficient_balance).
  • Only paying accounts have a wallet to adjust — parents, or teachers with parent access.

Adjusting for a student

A student has no wallet of their own — their access is funded from the parent's wallet (one per family). On a student's detail you'll see a Funded by card naming that parent; open that parent and adjust their wallet. See The user detail panel.

Common issues

  • No Wallet section on this user. They're not a paying account. Students and plain teachers have none; a student shows Funded by instead.
  • "Insufficient balance." The debit exceeds their current balance — reduce it, or credit first.
