Monitoring child progress
For parents· 2 min read
The parent home screen shows the active learner's streak, weak strands, recent CEAs, and library jumps — everything you need at a glance.
The parent home screen is built for fast morning / evening triage — a 30-second glance tells you how your child is doing. Everything scopes to the active learner; switch learners from the top pill to see another child.
What you see on parent home
- Greeting + streak hero — "Today is the 3rd day of [Child]'s streak. Keep it going."
- Weekly progress — bar showing CEAs taken vs the weekly target.
- KPI strip — total CEAs, average score, streak days, this-week count.
- Focus card — top weak strand with a Practice this button that opens the CEA picker pre-selected, plus a Browse library button.
- Recent attempts — last 5 CEAs with score + duration + competency breakdown.
- Bookmarks — quick links to library items the child has saved.
Deeper drills
- Tap a recent attempt → opens the CEA results view in read-only mode.
- Tap a weak-strand chip → opens the library jump for that sub-strand.
- Profile → activity stats for the child shows term-level numbers.
What you don't see
- Real-time activity — Keybaki doesn't notify you the second your child opens the app. It would be surveillance; instead, weekly digest emails summarise the week.
Weekly digest
Settings → Notifications → Weekly review (per-child). When on, a Sunday-evening email recaps the week: CEAs taken, score trends, top weak strand, library items engaged with.
Common issues
- Stats are zero. Either the child hasn't taken any CEAs yet (encourage them — even one seeds the recommender) or the active learner is a different child.
- Weak strands list keeps growing. That's expected — the recommender keeps adding sub-strands as the child tries new strands. The Focus card always surfaces the biggest gap, so it stays useful.
