Tokens & pricing

How the Keybaki token wallet works, what tokens unlock, and how M-Pesa top-up is priced.
Keybaki uses a simple token wallet to gate premium content. Tokens never expire on their own; a small daily decrement runs at midnight — 1 token per child past their trial — so the wallet drifts toward zero only while it's funding Premium.
Pricing at a glance
- 1 token = KES 10 by default. The rate is set server-side (the
TOKEN_KESconfig); the client never decides what you pay. - Top-ups are processed via M-Pesa STK push, in four bundles: 10, 30, 60, or 100 tokens (KES 100 – 1,000).
- Trials and the free plan — every family's first 3 children get a 7-day full-access trial. After it, the free plan keeps library + CEAs in English and Social Studies (Junior School) or English and ICT (Senior School); teacher tools and family management stay free. A topped-up wallet unlocks every subject automatically (1 token per child per day).
What tokens unlock
- Every subject for a child — the full library and all CEAs across the curriculum (the free plan keeps two subjects per level), including full-length KICD-mock-format assessments. While the parent's wallet holds tokens, Premium is on for every child and debits 1 token per child per day.
- Advanced reports — per-strand mastery breakdown over the term.
- National practice library — model answers from KICD-aligned national assessments.
Common issues
- My top-up succeeded but tokens didn't appear. M-Pesa callbacks can be delayed up to 60 seconds. Refresh the Family screen; if it's still missing after a minute, message Keybaki Support from the app (Messages → the Official row) with the M-Pesa code — you'll get a ticket number to track it. Email works too: Contact & support.
- Where do I see how many days we have left? The Family wallet card shows the days remaining at your family's pace. When the wallet hits 0, Premium pauses for everyone; new tokens switch it back on immediately.
