Privacy & data settings
Where to export your data, control consent, blur sensitive content on shared devices, and delete your account — all under Settings → Privacy & data.
Everything about the data Keybaki holds for you lives in one place: Settings → Privacy & data. You can take your data with you, control what we use it for, and delete your account outright.
Shared-device privacy
Blur sensitive content when the window is unfocused hides grades, messages, and other private surfaces the moment you switch tabs or another window covers Keybaki — useful on a shared school laptop. Tap the blurred area to reveal it again. Off by default.
Consent
Two toggles, both honoured immediately:
- Marketing emails — curriculum tips and product updates. Off by default; turn it on if you want them.
- Usage analytics — aggregated, de-identified data that helps us improve the app. On by default; turn it off to opt out.
Export your data
Teachers and admins get four one-tap exports, each downloaded as a JSON file (parents and students use the DPA request card lower down for a formal data copy):
- Export plans — your lesson plans.
- Export bookmarks — your saved library items.
- Export CEA history — scores plus per-question detail.
- Full account export — everything we hold on you, the format used for formal Data Protection Act (2019) / GDPR requests.
The file downloads straight to your device.
Offline library
The same panel shows cached media and device storage, and lets you clear library caches in one tap. Protected lessons require online authorization; bookmarks save references rather than offline lesson copies. See Install Keybaki + use it offline for what stays available without a network.
Deleting your account
The Danger zone card deletes your account permanently. It's a two-step flow: tap Delete account permanently, then enter the 6-digit code we send to your phone to confirm. Deletion is irreversible and removes:
- Teachers — your plans, bookmarks, and CEA history.
- Parents — all your child profiles, their CEA history, and your bookmarks.
Students can't delete their own account (there's no phone to send the code to) — a parent removes the child profile from the Family screen instead, which clears the CEA history and revokes sign-in.
Common issues
- "Add a phone number before deleting." Account deletion needs a phone to send the confirmation code. Add one under Settings → Security first.
- My export looks empty. You haven't created anything of that kind yet — a brand-new account exports an empty list. The full account export always includes your profile.
- I turned analytics off but still get marketing emails. They're separate toggles. Switch Marketing emails off too.
- I need a formal data request. Use the DPA request card lower in the same panel — it routes to the team rather than to the instant self-service export.
